Nakeyta Clair
Assistant Coach
Nakeyta Clair begins her first season as an assistant coach for the Alabama A&M University volleyball program, reuniting with head coach Dr. Brandon Reeves after previously working alongside him at Chicago State University from 2019 to 2023. During her tenure at Chicago State, Clair contributed in multiple capacities, including recruiting coordination, organizing team transportation, supervising practices, and coordinating official visits. Her administrative and on-court experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of Division I program operations and student-athlete development. Prior to Chicago State, she spent nearly two years working at her alma mater, the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
A standout collegiate athlete, Clair was a four-year starter for Ole Miss from 2012 to 2015 and became just the second All-American in program history. She was a two-time All-SEC selection, an SEC All-Freshman Team honoree, and a member of the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team. Clair remains the school’s all-time leader in total blocks (435), block solos (102), block assists (333), and career hitting percentage (.344), while ranking third in career kills. She also played professionally in Halmstad, Sweden, before transitioning into coaching. Clair earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Ole Miss and later completed a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University.
