Morgan Toles
Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development
Morgan Toles was hired as an assistant coach for Florida State’s women’s basketball program (serving also as Director of Player Development) in July 2020, as announced by then-head coach Sue Semrau. In that capacity, she has primary responsibilities as FSU’s defensive coordinator, working to structure a defense that can force turnovers and convert them into transition offense. Over the years, she has contributed to the development of standout players, including Makayla Timpson (who set the FSU single-season block record in 2023-24) and Sara Bejedi (who benefited from Toles’ defensive system). Toles’ coaching résumé includes four seasons (2016–2020) at Kent State, where she coached point guards, handled recruiting coordination, and helped guide her teams to success in the Mid-American Conference. One highlight during her time with Kent State was the 2019-20 season, when the program won a MAC East Division title and several of her guards earned All-MAC recognition. Prior to her collegiate coaching career, Toles was a student-athlete at Florida State (2011–2013) and then served as a student assistant (2013–14) and graduate assistant (2014–16) at FSU as she launched her coaching path.
