Morgan Sheehan

Morgan Sheehan is a distinguished alumna of UNC Pembroke, where she competed as a multi-sport student-athlete (track & field and tennis) from 2013 to 2018 and served two terms as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and completed her master’s in physical education in 2018. In July 2023, Sheehan was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Communications & Strategic Initiatives at UNC Pembroke, after previously serving as Assistant Athletic Communications Director and then Associate Athletic Communications Director. In her current role, she oversees day-to-day communications and media relations for multiple varsity sports programs — including football, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, softball, golf and swimming — and helps drive strategic growth for the athletics department’s external presence. Notably, under her leadership the athletic communications staff at UNC Pembroke received the inaugural Conference Carolinas Athletic Communications Staff of the Year honor.
