Mitch Dahlen is an emerging offensive mind in college football, currently serving as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Oregon State University. A native of Redmond, Oregon, Dahlen returns to Corvallis with deep personal ties to the program, having grown up attending games and coming from a family connected to Oregon State athletics. His coaching ascent has been closely tied to head coach Kalen DeBoer, working alongside him at Fresno State, Washington, and most recently at Alabama. In those roles, Dahlen contributed to some of the nation’s most explosive passing offenses, helping develop high-level quarterbacks and participating in College Football Playoff runs and a national championship appearance.
Before joining the Power Five ranks, Dahlen built a strong foundation through several collegiate coaching stops. He served as offensive coordinator at Black Hills State and the College of Idaho, where his offenses set multiple school records and produced decorated quarterbacks, including All-Conference and All-American performers. He also gained valuable experience at Boise State, contributing to a 10-win season with a prolific passing attack. As a former quarterback himself at Utah and Southern Utah, Dahlen brings firsthand knowledge of the position, combined with a reputation for player development and creative offensive design. His return to Oregon State marks both a professional milestone and a homecoming, as he leads the Beavers’ offense into a new era.
