Mitch Canham is the head baseball coach at Oregon State University, a position he has held since June 2019 as the program’s 21st head coach. A former standout catcher for the Beavers, Canham returned to his alma mater after building a successful professional coaching career within the Seattle Mariners organization. Under his leadership, Oregon State has remained a national contender, consistently reaching the NCAA postseason and returning to the College World Series in 2025 for the first time during his tenure. His teams have produced numerous All-Americans and MLB Draft selections, including top overall pick Travis Bazzana, while maintaining a reputation for player development and competitive excellence.
Before returning to Corvallis, Canham spent nearly four seasons managing in the Mariners’ minor league system, compiling a strong winning record and earning California League Manager of the Year honors in 2017. As a player, he was a cornerstone of Oregon State’s golden era, helping lead the Beavers to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. An All-American in 2007, Canham was later selected in the first round of the MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres and went on to play professionally across multiple organizations. Known for his leadership, energy, and deep ties to the program, Canham continues to build on Oregon State’s proud baseball tradition while mentoring the next generation of student-athletes.
