Missy Strasburg became the fourth head coach in Eastern Washington University women’s soccer history in June 2021, bringing extensive collegiate coaching experience and regional ties to the program. Since taking the helm, she has steadily guided the Eagles toward competitive growth within the Big Sky Conference. One of her most notable seasons came in 2024–25, when she led Eastern Washington to a 9-5-5 overall record and a third-place conference finish, earning Big Sky Coach of the Year honors. That season marked one of the largest single-season turnarounds in program history and included a return to the conference tournament for the first time since 2019. Under her leadership, multiple players have earned All-Big Sky recognition, including major individual awards such as Co-Offensive MVP.
Strasburg’s teams have shown continued development on both sides of the ball, highlighted by improved defensive performances, balanced scoring, and strong home-field results. In 2025–26, the Eagles posted an 8-7-4 record and returned to postseason play, supported by multiple all-conference selections and weekly award winners. Prior to Eastern Washington, Strasburg served as head coach at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she led the program to one of its best Division I seasons, and held assistant coaching roles at several Division I institutions including Washington, New Mexico, and UTSA. A former standout defender at Gonzaga University, she combines high-level playing experience with a strong emphasis on leadership development. Strasburg also founded the BlueFire Leadership Academy, reflecting her commitment to developing student-athletes as leaders both on and off the field.
