Missy Meharg is the head field hockey coach at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland, and in 2025 she is in her fourth decade leading the program. She has built one of the sport's most accomplished programs, guiding Maryland to seven NCAA national titles and 28 conference championships, including 20 in the ACC and eight in the Big Ten. On Oct. 17, 2021, she became the third Division I coach to reach 600 career wins when Maryland defeated Connecticut, and she has won more games than any coach in Maryland athletics history.
Meharg owns a career record of 665-180-9, a .784 winning percentage, with 36 NCAA Tournament appearances, 21 trips to the national semifinals, and 13 appearances in the championship game. She was selected National Coach of the Year nine times and Conference Coach of the Year nine times. Two of Maryland's best seasons came in 2009 and 2010, when the Terrapins went 46-2, won two ACC titles, and captured an NCAA championship.
