Mike Silva serves as Head Coach for Arkansas State University's Baseball program in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Silva, who signed a contract extension through June 30, 2031, is in his second season as head baseball coach at Arkansas State after leading the Red Wolves to one of the most significant turnarounds in program history during his first year in 2025. Silva was named the sixth head coach of the Arkansas State baseball program on June 13, 2024.
The 2023 Southland Conference Coach of the Year joined the program after three seasons at Nicholls, guiding the Colonels to a 98-71 record and back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament titles in his first stint as a Division I head coach. AT ARKANSAS STATE Silva guided A-State to 26 victories, its most since 2019, and back to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament for the first time since 2021, posting the best all-time record by a head baseball coach in his first season at Arkansas State. Picked to finish last in the Sun Belt’s 2025 Preseason Coaches Poll, the Red Wolves finished the regular season with their best conference winning percentage since 2014, earning the No. 8 seed in the league tournament and doubling their Sun Belt win total from the previous season. Under Silva’s leadership, Arkansas State won its most conference series (five) since 2017, recorded its first road-series win over Louisiana in 13 years, defeated multiple nationally ranked opponents for the first time since 2019, and saw its NCAA RPI improve by 74 spots from the previous season.
