Mike Morrison
Assistant Coach
Mike Morrison is an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Alabama baseball program, entering his third season on staff in 2025–26. Hired in July 2023 by head coach Rob Vaughn, Morrison plays a central role in coordinating the Crimson Tide’s recruiting efforts while assisting with the development of the pitching staff. During the 2025 season, Alabama posted a 41-18 record and recorded 536 strikeouts, the sixth-most in program history. Morrison contributed to the development and acquisition of multiple MLB Draft selections, including first-round pick Riley Quick, along with key contributors secured through the transfer portal. Under his recruiting leadership, Alabama’s 2025 signing class ranked No. 8 nationally by Perfect Game USA, the highest ranking in program history since the service began publishing rankings in 2011.
Prior to Alabama, Morrison spent two seasons at Maryland under Vaughn, helping guide the Terrapins to 90 wins and a Big Ten regular-season title in 2022. He also served at his alma mater, Coastal Carolina, as assistant coach and director of player development and scouting. As a player, Morrison was a standout pitcher for Coastal Carolina, earning multiple All-America honors and playing a key role in the Chanticleers’ 2016 national championship. He was selected in the 27th round of the 2016 MLB Draft and spent three seasons in the Chicago White Sox organization. A native of Boca Raton, Florida, Morrison earned his bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina and later completed master’s degrees in business administration and education. He and his spouse, Jordan, have two sons, Miles and Madden.
