Mike Lewis
Virginia Tech, Associate Head Coach (Softball)
Mike Lewis joined the Virginia Tech softball staff on July 27, 2020 and over the intervening years has proven to be a key contributor to the Hokies’ success. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2024, after serving previously as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. During his tenure, Virginia Tech softball has achieved multiple milestones: consistent NCAA Regional appearances (2021–25), Super Regional hosting, top-tier offensive production, and record-breaking seasons in home runs and team slugging percentage.
Prior to his arrival at Virginia Tech, Lewis held roles at Minnesota (volunteer assistant, graduate manager) and at UMKC (University of Missouri–Kansas City) where he coached for several years, overseeing pitching and infield units. In addition to his collegiate coaching work, Lewis remains active as a men’s fastpitch player—he was selected to Team USA’s Men’s National Team in 2021 and has competed with the Fargo Kegel Black Knights, earning honors such as 1st Team All-World at the ISC World Championships. He and his wife, Maddie, live in Christiansburg, Virginia.
