Mike DePaoli is the associate head coach for Hofstra University men's basketball in Hempstead, New York, and is in his sixth season on the program's staff after previously serving the Pride as a graduate assistant.
DePaoli has been part of a successful run under head coach Speedy Claxton. Hofstra won 20 or more games in four of Claxton's first five seasons, including 21 victories in 2021-22, a 20-win season in 2023-24, and a 25-win campaign that brought the program the CAA regular-season title and a trip to the second round of the National Invitation Tournament after a first-round win over Rutgers. In 2025-26, Hofstra won 24 games, captured the Coastal Athletic Association tournament championship, and earned its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2001. That team also produced three All-CAA selections, including the league's Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, making Hofstra the first school in conference history to win both major awards in the same season.
