Mike Ayers is the Heffes Family Associate Head Coach for Boston College men's ice hockey in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and enters his 13th season on the Eagles' staff in 2025-26. A member of the program since 2013, he was promoted to his current position after the 2020-21 season. Matt Boldy, Drew Helleson and Jack McBain also earned All-America honors during Ayers' tenure.
Before arriving at Boston College, Ayers spent two seasons with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program as goaltending coach. He worked with the United States teams that won gold at the 2012 IIHF Under-18 Championship and silver at the 2013 IIHF Under-18 World Championship, contributed to goaltender scouting and selection for the 2013 World Junior team, and later served as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Junior Team at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship. His work with the NTDP included running goaltender practices, evaluating top prospects, and coordinating the Warren Strelow National Goaltending Mentor Program.
