Mikahael Waters is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Maine football program in Orono, Maine. Entering his eighth year on the Black Bears' staff in 2026, he joined the program in July 2019 and has worked in several roles on the offensive side and special teams. After coaching Maine's tight ends for his first four seasons, he moved to the wide receivers, was promoted to assistant special teams coordinator and pro liaison in 2022, became special teams coordinator in 2023, and was named offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in March 2024.
Under Waters, Maine's offense showed notable progress in 2025. The Black Bears improved their rushing production by 54 yards per game from the previous season and increased their rushing touchdown total from 15 to 19. Maine also averaged 29.5 points per game in conference play, its highest conference scoring rate in the past 10 seasons. He helped redshirt freshman Rashawn Marshall earn Phil Steele Freshman All-America recognition, while Anthony Iliano, Scott Woods, and Sincere Baines received CAA all-conference honors. Quarterback Carter Peevy added an All-CAA honorable mention selection.
