Michelle Wallerstedt Hodge is an assistant coach for George Mason University track and field and cross country in Fairfax, Virginia, where she has overseen the throws group since joining the staff in 2022.
Hodge works with the discus, shot put, weight throw, and hammer throw. In her first three seasons at George Mason, her athletes produced four NCAA Championship qualifiers, three USTFCCCA Academic Award honorees, and 16 Atlantic 10 medalists, and she was part of the staff for the women's 2023 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship team title. In 2024, her throwers included two NCAA Championship qualifiers, one USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree, and two conference champions. That group recorded four conference-meet medals and two school records. Arsalan Yaqubi set the school record in the hammer throw while winning the event at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships, then improved the mark again at the IC4A meet. Bobby Kestyn reset the school record in the discus and won the conference title in that event, adding third place in the hammer throw and fourth in the shot put to earn Atlantic 10 Field Performer of the Meet honors.
