Michael Terblanche serves as Assistant Coach for Arkansas State University's Men's Golf program in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Arkansas State men’s golf head coach Mike Hagen announced ahead of the 2024-25 season the hiring of Michael Terblanche as assistant coach. In his first season on staff, the Red Wolves set a program record with a 285.17 team stroke average, had two individuals—Thomas Schmidt and Jack Maxey—qualify for NCAA Regionals for the first time in school history, and saw Maxey win the Sun Belt individual championship, the program’s first since 1997.
Three Red Wolves also earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors from the GCAA. Terblanche began his collegiate coaching career in 2023-24 as an assistant coach at Mercer, where he helped the Bears match the program’s best finish at the Southern Conference Championship. That season, Tobias Jonsson advanced to NCAA Regionals as an individual and went on to compete in the 3M Open on the PGA Tour. Terblanche finished out his collegiate career as a graduate transfer at Toledo, playing 11 rounds and compiling a 74.9 stroke average for the Rockets.
