Michael Skelton is the associate head coach for the University of Vermont women's soccer program in Burlington, Vermont. He joined the Catamounts in 2021 and was promoted to associate head coach in April 2024. Entering his fifth season with Vermont in fall 2025, he has been part of a staff that has guided the program to repeated postseason appearances and strong conference recognition.
In 2024, Vermont reached its third America East Playoff appearance in four seasons, with the team earning seven all-conference selections while leading the league in scoring and posting more than 30 goals for a second straight year. The 2023 season ended with a trip to the America East semifinals after a quarterfinal win at New Hampshire, and Vermont again placed multiple players on the conference honor teams. In Skelton's first season with the Catamounts, the staff was named America East Coaching Staff of the Year as Vermont finished 12-6-1 and advanced to the NCAA tournament, only the program's second appearance after winning its first America East championship. That 2021 team also featured the conference midfielder of the year, goalkeeper of the year, five all-conference players, and two all-rookie selections.
