Michael Huger is the associate head coach for Temple University men's basketball in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the 2026-27 season is his fourth on the Owls' staff. He was appointed on April 14, 2023, as the first staff hire made by head coach Adam Fisher after the two had previously worked together for two seasons at Miami.
Temple posted a 16-16 overall record and went 8-10 in the American Athletic Conference in 2025-26. The Owls were 10-6 at the Liacouras Center, put together a seven-game winning streak that was the program's longest since 2014-15, and defeated eventual league champion South Florida in a 79-78 game. Eleven of Temple's 16 defeats came by two possessions or fewer. The team's statistical profile reflected major improvement on defense and in ball security, finishing 11th nationally at 9.0 turnovers per game, committing 10 or fewer turnovers in 20 of 32 contests, reducing scoring defense from 77.7 points per game in 2024-25 to 70.8 in 2025-26, holding opponents to 32.4 percent from three-point range, and averaging 4.0 blocks.
