Michael Armstrong is the associate athletic director for football operations at the University of Delaware football program in Newark, Delaware, a position he assumed in July 2023. He arrived at Delaware after two seasons at the University of St. Thomas, where he served as director of football and recruiting operations during the program's move from Division III to Division I. St. Thomas went 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the Pioneer League in its first Division I season in 2021, then finished 10-1 in 2022 and won the league title with an 8-0 conference record. His work there included branding projects, travel coordination, and establishing a multi-year Teamworks partnership.
Before St. Thomas, Armstrong worked at Grambling State from 2016 to 2021 as director of football operations and recruiting. His responsibilities covered operations, video, recruiting, and coordination related to professional player opportunities. During that period, Grambling State won SWAC championships in 2016 and 2017, reached the Celebration Bowl both seasons, and posted an 11-1 record while winning the bowl in 2016.
