Michaela Porter is an assistant coach for Duquesne University women's basketball in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is in her second season on the staff in 2026-27. A Pittsburgh native, Porter returned to her hometown to begin her coaching career after several years as a professional player overseas. Her international career included stops in Portugal, Iceland, Finland, and Mongolia, and she most recently played for Abejas de León in Mexico's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional Femenil. In 12 games there, she averaged 7.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 83.3 percent from the free-throw line. Before turning professional, Porter completed her college career at Appalachian State University, graduating in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a certificate in business management. Over three seasons at Appalachian State, she played in 82 games, made 53 starts, and averaged 8.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. As a senior, she averaged 12.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, led both the team and the Sun Belt Conference in steals at 2.3 per game, and ranked among the league leaders in assists. She recorded 18 double-figure scoring games and four double-doubles that season. Porter began her collegiate career at Cincinnati before transferring to Appalachian State.
