Mia Nonnenberg
Assistant Coach
Mia Nonnenberg joined the Princeton University men’s swimming and diving coaching staff in September 2023, bringing Division I coaching experience, international exposure, and elite competitive credentials to the Tigers’ program. In her first season at Princeton during 2023–24, Nonnenberg helped guide the Tigers to an Ivy League Dual Meet Championship, an 8–3 overall record, and a second-place finish at the Ivy League Championships. Princeton rose as high as No. 24 in the CSCAA Dual Meet Rankings, and the team earned All-Ivy League honors in eight events, including first-team recognition in the 1000 freestyle and 400 individual medley. Her contributions supported both individual performance gains and the program’s continued rise on the national stage.
Prior to Princeton, Nonnenberg served as an assistant coach at Penn State from 2021 to 2023, where she worked with both men’s and women’s programs. During her tenure, Penn State athletes set numerous school records and top-10 performances, earned NCAA All-America Honorable Mention recognition, and competed internationally, including appearances at the 2023 World Championships. She was also heavily involved in recruiting, official visits, and program operations. Earlier in her career, Nonnenberg was a graduate assistant at the University of West Florida, where she helped lead the women’s team to consecutive conference championships and supported NCAA Division II All-America performances while emphasizing academic excellence. A former elite swimmer herself, Nonnenberg competed at the NCAA and Olympic Trials levels for the University of Alabama and holds degrees from Alabama and West Florida. Her blend of high-performance experience, athlete development, and administrative expertise strengthens Princeton’s swimming and diving program.
