Miacheal Marchiano
Head Coach Women's Soccer
Michael Marchiano, a University of Maryland alumnus and two-time national champion, was appointed as the head coach of the Maryland women's soccer program on December 10, 2024. Prior to his appointment, he served as an assistant coach for the team, contributing to recruiting efforts and player development. Marchiano's coaching journey includes successful stints at Drexel University, Loyola University Maryland, and the United States Military Academy at West Point. His leadership has been instrumental in revitalizing programs and achieving notable successes, such as guiding Drexel to the Colonial Athletic Association semifinals. A former midfielder for the Maryland men's soccer team from 2005 to 2008, Marchiano was part of both the 2005 and 2008 national championship teams. He also served as a two-time team captain. His deep connection to Maryland soccer, both as a player and coach, underscores his commitment to the program's success.
