Mel Savala is an assistant softball coach at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, joining the Eagles staff on June 17, 2026.
Before arriving at Boston College, Savala spent the 2026 season at Kennesaw State after two years at Saint Francis (Pa.). At Saint Francis, she worked primarily with the hitters and outfielders during one of the most successful periods in program history. The Red Flash went 67-40 overall and 38-7 in Northeast Conference play across her two seasons, winning consecutive NEC Tournament titles. The coaching staff was named NEC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024, and Savala was part of a staff that coached four NFCA All-Region selections and 13 all-conference players.
