Melissa Luellen
Head Coach
Melissa Luellen enters her 11th season as head coach of Auburn women’s golf in 2025-26, bringing more than 25 years of collegiate head coaching experience to the program. Since arriving on the Plains in 2015, Luellen has guided Auburn to multiple NCAA Championship appearances, including national semifinal finishes and three consecutive NCAA Championship berths from 2019–22. Her teams have captured SEC and NCAA Regional titles, set numerous program scoring records, and consistently ranked among the nation’s top programs. In 2024-25, Auburn recorded five top-five finishes, set a program record for lowest 18-hole team score (270), and earned its eighth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. Under her leadership, players such as Anna Davis and Megan Schofill have earned All-America and All-SEC honors.
Prior to Auburn, Luellen spent 13 seasons at Arizona State, where she led the Sun Devils to the 2009 NCAA National Championship, 10 NCAA top-10 finishes, and multiple conference titles. She began her head coaching career at Tulsa, her alma mater, where she won back-to-back conference championships. A four-time All-American at Tulsa, Luellen won the 1988 NCAA individual title and later competed for 11 seasons on the LPGA Tour, earning a tour victory in 1991. A member of multiple halls of fame, Luellen is widely respected for her championship pedigree and commitment to developing student-athletes on and off the course. She and her husband, Mark, have two children.
