McKenzie Brewer joined the Gonzaga University women’s volleyball staff in 2025 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, quickly earning recognition as one of the rising young coaches in the sport. After her first season with the Bulldogs, she was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 30 Under 30 list, highlighting her early impact and potential in collegiate coaching. At Gonzaga, Brewer plays a key role in recruiting, player development, and positional coaching, particularly working with setters and defensive specialists while helping shape the program’s future talent pipeline.
Prior to Gonzaga, Brewer gained collegiate coaching experience at multiple levels, including a season at UT Arlington under head coach JT Wenger and two years at Incarnate Word, where she also served as recruiting coordinator. Her coaching foundation began as a graduate assistant at Northwestern State, following her playing career at Stephen F. Austin. As a student-athlete, Brewer was a standout setter, contributing to an NCAA Tournament appearance and ranking among the program’s top assist leaders early in her career. Her combination of playing experience, recruiting expertise, and rapid coaching development has made her a valuable addition to Gonzaga’s volleyball program.
