Matvey Pangan
Assistant Coach
Matvey Pangan enters his second year on the Drew University golf coaching staff in 2025–26, continuing his role in supporting the Rangers’ women’s golf program while also assisting with the men’s team. After serving as a women’s assistant coach during the 2024–25 season, he helped guide the team to a top-three finish in every event, including five tournament victories and a runner-up finish at the Landmark Conference Championships. His contributions have supported a period of sustained competitive success and record-setting performances for the program.
A 2024 Drew graduate and former four-year member of the men’s golf team, Pangan competed in 41 career rounds from 2020–24. He was part of the historic 2022 squad that captured the first Landmark Conference championship in program history and secured Drew’s first NCAA Division III Championship appearance. A native of Clifton, New Jersey, Pangan transitioned directly from student-athlete to coach, bringing firsthand knowledge of the program’s standards and culture. His experience as a competitor at the conference and national levels provides valuable insight as he mentors current student-athletes in their development both on and off the course.
