Matt Weaver is the head coach of the Drexel University men's rowing program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and entered his third season with the Dragons after being hired in September 2023.
In his first two seasons, Drexel continued a strong run of results under Weaver. The program won the men's title at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta for a fourth straight year, and Drexel's men's and women's teams combined to claim the overall points championship in consecutive seasons. Drexel also sent its varsity 4+ to the second final at the IRA National Championships, while Andrew Manns earned IRA National Championships recognition. In Weaver's first year, the Dragons captured a third consecutive Dad Vail Varsity 8+ title and the men's team championship, added the Philadelphia City Championships at the Bergen Cup Regatta, and posted the program's best IRA team finish to that point at 15th in 2024. Josh Diggons was named an IRCA Second Team All-American, and Damian Lis received honorable mention.
