Matt Rice is an assistant coach for the Quinnipiac University men's lacrosse team in Hamden, Connecticut, where he serves as offensive coordinator. He was added to the Bobcats' staff in November 2025, and in 2026 he was part of a coaching group that helped Quinnipiac return to the postseason. The Bobcats finished 4-4 in MAAC play, earned the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament, and had five players receive All-MAAC honors, including first-team goalkeeper Evan Miner.
Before arriving at Quinnipiac, Rice was offensive coordinator at Ohio Wesleyan from 2023 to 2025. While there, he worked with staffs recognized as the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association Region 5 Coaching Staff of the Year in 2025 and the North Coast Athletic Conference Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024. Ohio Wesleyan went 11-5 in 2024 and 15-4 in 2025, and its offense ranked among the top 20 in Division III in 2025, including top-15 finishes in goals per game and offensive efficiency.
