Matt Peyton is the sports performance coach and director of operations for the University of Maine women's basketball program in Orono, Maine, a position he has held since August 2018. He previously spent part of the 2017-18 season at UMaine as an assistant sports performance coach, working with women's basketball, baseball, and track and field. He was the strength and conditioning coach for Maine's 2017-18 America East championship women's basketball team and oversaw training design, performance tracking, recovery analysis, and postgame and travel recovery for the program.
Peyton's background also includes work with the Rome Braves, a minor league affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, where he directed strength and conditioning programming and supervised team nutrition. He began his career at the University of Nebraska Omaha as head strength and conditioning intern for two years, then completed a five-month internship at Creighton before moving into an assistant sports performance role at Maine.
