Matt O'Neill is the head diving coach for West Virginia University's swimming and diving program in Morgantown, West Virginia, and entered his second season with the Mountaineers after being hired in August 2025.
In his first season leading the diving program, he guided three WVU divers to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships despite injuries within the group. At the 2026 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships, Levi Hellmann placed fourth on 3-meter and Abigail Sullivan finished eighth on platform, with both earning their first career conference medals. Hellmann later qualified for his first NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships appearance on platform.
