Matt Jones is the lead assistant coach for Quinnipiac University men's soccer in Hamden, Connecticut, and is set to enter his ninth season on Eric Da Costa's staff in fall 2026. He joined the program as an assistant coach on January 12, 2018, and was promoted to lead assistant coach on December 4, 2020. Before moving to the men's staff, he served as a volunteer assistant with the Quinnipiac women's soccer program under Dave Clarke.
Across Jones's first eight seasons with the men's program, Quinnipiac posted a 53-34-15 overall record in MAAC play and reached the MAAC Tournament seven times. The Bobcats won the 2022 MAAC championship, the program's second conference tournament title, after defeating Iona in the final on November 13, 2022, in Hamden. That team finished 13-5-3 overall, went 6-2-2 in conference matches to claim Quinnipiac's fifth MAAC regular-season title, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, where the Bobcats were eliminated by No. 8 Vermont. During Jones's tenure, goalkeeper Karl Netzell earned All-MAAC recognition twice, making the second team in 2022 and the third team in 2024.
