Matt Eastman
Assistant Volleyball Coach
Matt Eastman is in his first season as an assistant coach for Johns Hopkins women’s volleyball, joining the Blue Jay staff on March 10, 2025. He comes to Baltimore following two seasons as a graduate assistant at Valparaiso University, where he contributed to a 36–29 overall record during his tenure. At Valpo, Eastman worked across many facets of the program, with special emphasis on coaching the liberos and defensive specialists, handling aspects of match preparation and scouting opponent distribution, and overseeing service game strategy.
Prior to Valparaiso, Eastman served at UMBC as a volunteer assistant women’s coach, contributing to practice design, scouting, statistics, and analytics. He also led the UMBC men’s club volleyball team, managing all elements of the program. Eastman played club volleyball at UMBC while completing a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems in 2020. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Administration at Valparaiso.
