Marquel Blackwell is the assistant coach, co-offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach for the University of Connecticut football program in Storrs, Connecticut, joining the Huskies in 2026.
Blackwell arrived at UConn after two seasons at South Carolina, where he coached the running backs and worked with Raheim Sanders, who earned second-team All-SEC recognition after rushing for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns. Before that, he spent the 2023 season at Texas A&M and the 2022 season at Ole Miss, where he was part of an offense that produced one of the nation's top rushing attacks. Ole Miss led the SEC and ranked third nationally at 256.5 rushing yards per game, while Quinshon Judkins ran for 1,565 yards and 16 touchdowns.
