Mark Hernandez
Pitching Coach / Recruiting Coordinator
Mark Hernandez begins his first season at Alabama A&M University as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, serving as the Bulldogs’ pitching coach. He arrives in Huntsville following the 2024 season at Wagner College, adding Division I experience to the staff. Hernandez brings nearly a decade of coaching experience across the high school, collegiate, and summer league levels. As pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, he oversees the development of the Bulldogs’ pitching staff, manages recruiting operations, and contributes to game preparation and scouting.
A 2016 graduate of LIU, Hernandez was a four-year pitcher for the program and earned Second Team All-Northeast Conference honors twice. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Doral Academy High School in Miami, serving as varsity strength coach and assistant pitching coach. He helped guide the program to back-to-back FHSAA State Final Four appearances in 2018 and 2019, including a state runner-up finish. Hernandez later served as a volunteer assistant at LIU and worked as a pitching coach in the Northwoods League with the Green Bay Booyah. Most recently, he spent four years at Middle Georgia State University as pitching coach, recruiting coordinator, and strength and development coach, compiling a 114-69-1 record and earning two NAIA Opening Round at-large bids.
