Mark Hall
Head Coach
Mark Hall was named the third head coach in the modern era of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s football program on December 14, 2022, bringing with him 18 years of collegiate coaching experience. He arrived at UNCP after a successful 15-year tenure at Chowan University, including serving as head coach for the Hawks and earning a 14-7 record over two seasons. Under his guidance at Chowan, the program achieved its first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) North Division title in 2022.
In his first season at UNCP in 2023, Hall initiated a culture shift: the Braves posted a 7-3 record, and the offense surged—doubling average points per game and boosting yardage, while the defense finished third nationally in sacks per game and led the country in tackles for loss per game. The following 2024 season the team continued to advance finishing 6-5 overall and ranking inside the top ten nationally in multiple categories including scoring offense, passing offense, and total offense. Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in sports and leisure activities from Urbana University and a master’s in classroom management from the same institution.
