Mark Ellis is the Director of High Performance and High Performance Coach for women's basketball at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, a position he assumed on June 25, 2025. He serves as the primary high performance coach for the women's basketball program and oversees a staff of five full-time high performance coaches and one graduate assistant.
Ellis joined Providence after two years at Northwestern University, where he was Director of Olympic Sports Performance from 2023 to 2025. There, he supervised five assistant directors of sports performance and worked alongside specialists in nutrition, sports medicine, and sports psychology. He also worked directly with Northwestern's field hockey and swimming and diving teams, with each of those programs, along with several individual athletes, qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Northwestern's field hockey team won the national championship in 2024.
