Mark Beckham is the head coach of the University of Louisville women's tennis team in Louisville, Kentucky, a position he has held since 2007 after 15 years as an assistant coach with the Cardinals' men's program.
Beckham, a former Louisville player, made an immediate impact on the women's side. In his first season, Louisville went 16-8, reached the first NCAA Tournament in program history, and climbed to No. 38 nationally, which was the highest ranking the program had achieved at that point. That season brought him 2008 USTA Kentucky Coach of the Year honors. He followed that by guiding the Cardinals to a third-place BIG EAST finish in his second year, and in the years that followed Louisville continued to post notable individual and team results, including an 11-win season in his third year and a conference tournament No. 4 seed in 2011-12.
