Marissa Soistman is the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Rhode Island women's volleyball program in Kingston, Rhode Island. She joined the Rams in July 2024 and entered her second season with the team in 2025. In her first year at Rhode Island, the program more than doubled its overall and conference win totals from the previous season, finishing 9-22 overall and 4-14 in Atlantic 10 play after going 4-26 and 1-17 the year before.
Before arriving at Rhode Island, Soistman spent three seasons at New Hampshire, where she worked alongside head coach Ryan Sullivan. She started as a graduate assistant and director of operations before being promoted to assistant coach ahead of the 2023 season. During her time there, the Wildcats compiled a 53-31 record and went 20-12 in America East play. New Hampshire reached at least the conference semifinals in each of those seasons, advanced to the league championship match in 2022, and finished second in the conference in 2023 while closing the regular season on a seven-match winning streak. The team also posted its best RPI since 2003 in her final season.
