Maris Hall
Assistant Coach
Maris (Below) Hall joined the University of South Alabama volleyball staff as an assistant coach in April 2021 and has played a key role in the program’s rise within the Sun Belt Conference. Serving as recruiting coordinator and defensive coordinator, Hall has been instrumental in assembling and developing the talent that has led to conference championships and multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. She works closely with incoming student-athletes during onboarding, collaborates with academic counseling staff, and oversees defensive strategy and training. During her tenure, the Jaguars have earned numerous All-Sun Belt honors, national statistical rankings in blocking and defensive categories, and the program’s first Academic All-American recognition.
Hall contributed to South Alabama’s historic 2021 campaign, which included the program’s first Sun Belt regular-season title, tournament championship, and NCAA appearance. The Jaguars have continued to rank among national leaders in opponent hitting percentage, blocks, and digs, highlighted by strong postseason runs in 2022 and 2023. Before entering coaching, Hall was a standout outside hitter and three-year captain at Miami (Ohio), helping the RedHawks win a Mid-American Conference regular-season title and earn an NCAA Tournament berth in 2016. She later played professionally in Austria for Steelvolleys Linz-Steg. A Springfield, Missouri native, Hall earned her bachelor’s degree in international business from Miami (Ohio) in 2018 and brings both high-level playing experience and recruiting expertise to the Jaguar program.
