Maria Arteaga Mendoza is a volunteer coach for the University of Louisville women's tennis program in Louisville, Kentucky. A native of Colombia, she was a top-10 national junior player in the U14, U16, and U18 divisions, represented Bolivar in the Interligas Tournament, and competed for Colombia in COSAT events at the U16 level. She also played interclub tennis in Rouen, France, winning the Open Yainville title in 2018.
Arteaga played four years at the top of the singles and doubles lineup at Union Commonwealth University, where she was a two-time All-American in 2022 and 2023 and helped her team win the Women's AAC Conference Tournament in 2023. Before joining Louisville, she spent two seasons coaching at IMG Academy/Bollettieri. She earned a bachelor's degree in mass communication with a minor in exercise science from Union Commonwealth University and is pursuing a master's degree in communication at Louisville while serving as a graduate assistant in the Office of Communications and Marketing.
