Margot Royer-Johnson is the head volleyball coach at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island, and entered her 27th season leading the Friars in 2026 after being hired in August 2000 as the fifth head coach in program history. Her tenure has spanned Providence's return to the BIG EAST, following an earlier period in the conference from 1977 to 2001 and four seasons in the America East from 2010 to 2013.
One of the notable milestones of Royer-Johnson's time at Providence came in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 season, when she and her staff were named BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year. That season, Providence went 7-3 overall and 5-3 in conference play while earning its first BIG EAST Tournament berth since 1999. Across her career, she has coached eight All-BIG EAST selections. Her program has also been recognized repeatedly for community service, winning Providence College's Driscoll Cup four times and consistently ranking among the top NCAA Division I volleyball programs in community engagement according to Helper Helper.
