Margo Geer
Head Coach
Margo Geer has served as head coach of Alabama’s swimming and diving program since the 2021–22 season, after joining the Crimson Tide as an assistant coach in 2020–21. A former USA National Team standout, Geer made an immediate impact in Tuscaloosa, guiding the women’s program to its highest NCAA Championship finish in school history with a fourth-place result in her first season at the helm. Under her leadership, Alabama swimmers have earned dozens of All-America honors, broken numerous school records, and continued the men’s streak of top-15 and top-20 national finishes. Her teams have excelled at the SEC level as well, highlighted by runner-up and top-three finishes and multiple conference titles. Geer has overseen the development of Olympic and international competitors, including Rhyan White, who represented Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics and earned a silver medal.
Before transitioning into coaching, Geer enjoyed an accomplished international and collegiate swimming career. A four-time NCAA champion at the University of Arizona, she earned 27 All-America honors and was named the Pac-12 Woman of the Year. Professionally, she competed for the Mission Viejo Nadadores and represented the United States at World Championships, Pan Pacific Championships, and the Pan American Games. A native of Milford Center, Ohio, Geer retired from professional swimming in 2021 and quickly established herself as one of the rising leaders in collegiate swimming. She and her spouse, Eric, continue to build Alabama’s program into a national contender.
