Mamadou Diarra is the Director of Player Development for the University of Connecticut men's basketball program in Storrs, Connecticut. He is in his seventh year on the UConn support staff and has held his current position since the 2022-23 season. Before that, he spent one year as a student assistant coach and two years as a graduate assistant.
Diarra works closely with UConn's student-athletes on off-court programming centered on life skills, assists with study hall scheduling and monitoring, and organizes team community events. During his time in the role, UConn won national titles in 2023 and 2024. A former consensus Top 100 recruit from Queens, New York, he played 33 games for the Huskies before chronic knee issues ended his playing career. He earned his bachelor's degree in Urban and Community Studies in 2020 and a master's in Sport Management in 2022.
