Magnus Nilerud is the head coach of the Fordham University women's soccer team in Bronx, New York, a position he has held since February 11, 2022. He is the fourth head coach in program history and, by 2024, had guided Fordham to a 10-5-4 record, a top-four finish in the Atlantic 10, and the program's first home playoff match in more than 20 years. That season marked Fordham's best conference standing since 2009 and earned Nilerud Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Coach of the Year honors in 2024.
Under Nilerud, Fordham has produced multiple all-conference players and six Atlantic 10 All-Rookie selections from 2022 through 2025. In 2024, Liina Tervo was named the league's Rookie of the Year and a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, while Julia Acosta earned Second Team honors; both were also recognized on the conference all-rookie team. Fordham's 2024 squad finished with 37 assists, the second-highest total in program history, along with 36 goals and 109 points, both among the top single-season marks for the Rams. In 2025, Fordham advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship semifinals for the first time since 2015. Tervo and Lena Johnsen earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 recognition, Ella Guth was named to the Second Team, Renata Mercedes joined the All-Rookie Team, and Tervo and Guth received All-East Region honors from United Soccer Coaches.
