Mackenzie Plaskey
Associate Head Coach
MacKenzie Plaskey brings a strong track record of success and program building to her role as Associate Head Coach for Florida State’s women’s lacrosse program. She was officially named to this position on August 30, 2024. Before joining FSU, Plaskey spent six seasons as the head coach at Grand Valley State, compiling an overall record of 81–16 and a dominant 38–1 record in conference play. Under her leadership, GVSU swept four consecutive GLIAC regular season and tournament titles (2021–24), made three NCAA Tournament appearances, and in 2023 led the program to a historic run to the national semifinal. Prior to her head coaching stint at GVSU, Plaskey was recruited by Sara Tisdale to join Central Michigan’s nascent lacrosse program as an assistant (offensive coordinator / recruiting coordinator / camps oversight) and was among the first staff members in that program’s formation. She also founded and directed the youth lacrosse program Michigan Elite beginning in 2011, growing it into a multi-team competitive organization. Plaskey played collegiately (she was formerly MacKenzie Lawler) at Robert Morris, where she was a three-year starter, and she holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Robert Morris (2014) and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Central Michigan (2018).
