Lyle Wolf
Assistant Coach
Lyle Wolf enters his first year as an assistant coach for the University of Maryland men’s basketball program in the 2025-26 season, marking his 14th year overall working under head coach Buzz Williams. Over his coaching career, he has followed Williams to several stops, including Marquette, Virginia Tech, and Texas A&M. Known as a strong recruiter and offensive strategist, Wolf has been praised for his ability to filter information and make quick, effective decisions on and off the court. Before joining Maryland, Wolf spent six seasons at Texas A&M as an assistant coach from 2019 to 2025, helping the program achieve multiple 20-win seasons and NCAA Tournament appearances. Prior to that, he served at Virginia Tech in various roles including Director of Basketball Operations (2018-19) and assistant roles (2014-17). Wolf began his collegiate coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Marquette. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration (Transylvania University, 2010) and earned his Doctorate of Education in Global Sports Leadership from East Tennessee State in 2018. He is originally from Lexington, Kentucky.
