Luke Metzger
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Luke Metzger begins his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach at Flagler College in the 2025-26 academic year. Prior to this appointment, he served as a graduate assistant with the Ashland University men’s basketball program, where he assisted head coach John Ellenwood in recruiting efforts, opponent analysis, and player-development film sessions. During his time with the Eagles, he played a key role in facilitating the recognition of players such as Maceo Williams (Great Midwest Player of the Year) and Cooper Davis (second-team all-conference).
Metzger also brings playing experience from his collegiate career at Ashland University, where he competed for five seasons and earned placement on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in 2021-22. The son of grandparents who were actively engaged in the Flagler community, Metzger expressed strong personal ties to St. Augustine and looks to build on the program’s foundation alongside head coach Blake Selland. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics (2023, Ashland) and is working toward his MBA while living in St.
