Lucy Harper is the associate head coach for women's tennis at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and is entering her second season in that position. In her first year at VCU, she was part of a staff that led the Rams to a 14-11 record, the program's fifth Atlantic 10 Conference championship in seven years, and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. VCU won matches against Saint Louis, Rhode Island, Fordham, and Richmond to claim the league title before falling to North Carolina in the opening round of the national tournament. Four players earned A-10 All-Conference honors under the staff's direction, freshman Sofia Thorne received two A-10 Rookie of the Week awards, and seven team members were recognized as Scholar-Athletes with GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
Before joining VCU, Harper spent two seasons at Delaware, where she helped the Blue Hens post consecutive 20-win seasons. Delaware had five All-CAA selections in 2023, and in 2024 the program earned the No. 1 seed in the CAA tournament and reached the final for the first time in school history.
