Lucas Paulini is an assistant coach for the Virginia Commonwealth University men's soccer program in Richmond, Virginia, and completed his fifth season on the staff in 2023. During his time in that position, VCU went 30-32-18 overall and 21-8-9 in Atlantic 10 matches.
Paulini was part of a 2023 season in which VCU won the Atlantic 10 regular-season title, and Andrey Salmeron was named the league's Rookie of the Year. In 2021, the Rams received votes in the United Soccer Coaches poll for 11 straight weeks, climbed as high as No. 12, posted three wins over ranked opponents, and saw Celio Pompeu earn A-10 Midfielder of the Year honors.
