Louis Parente is the head coach of the Providence College men's golf team in Providence, Rhode Island, and enters his second season with the Friars in 2026-27. He became the third head coach in program history, succeeding Waldo Martin and Joe Prisco, and led Providence in its first season back as a varsity sport in 2025-26 after a 23-year absence.
In that return season, Providence posted its best team result with a fifth-place finish at the Bash in the Boro at Georgia Southern University Golf Course on October 14, 2025. The Friars also returned to the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since 2000 and finished 11th with a team score of 895. Campbell Skelly paced Providence with a tie for ninth at 4-under 212, including an opening-round 69 that set the program's lowest round in BIG EAST Championship history. Will Spring recorded the team's lowest round of the season, a 6-under 66, while Skelly added a 5-under 67 in the spring.
