Lonni Alameda
Head Coach
Lonni Alameda has been the head coach of the Florida State Seminoles softball program since 2009 and has transformed the program into one of the country’s elite teams. Under her leadership FSU won the Women’s College World Series in 2018, has been a regular NCAA Tournament participant, and captured multiple ACC regular-season and tournament titles. Alameda has earned numerous coaching honors, including multiple ACC Coach of the Year awards and NFCA recognition for her staff’s achievements. Beyond on-field success, Alameda has been a visible leader off the field: she coached professionally with the USSSA Pride (2016–17), runs the Lonni Alameda Softball Camps at FSU, and in 2025 was announced as an inductee into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame. During the 2025 season, she publicly shared her experience battling stage-3 triple-negative breast cancer while continuing to lead the Seminoles — a story covered in national outlets.
